Here is some info on the Blue Man Group from their wiki:

Blue Man Group (BMG) is a creative organization centered on a trio of mute performers, called Blue Men, that present themselves in blue paint, latex bald caps, and black clothing.

Blue Man Group’s theatrical acts incorporate rock music (with an emphasis on percussion), odd props, audience participation, sophisticated lighting, and large amounts of paper. It is also noted for having a “poncho section” of the audience; in the front rows, audience members are provided with plastic ponchos in order to protect them from various foods, substances, paints, and so on, which get thrown, ejected, or sprayed from the stage. The shows are family-oriented, humorous, energetic and often employ thought-provoking satire on modern life. Much of the humor breaks the fourth wall, for example, interrupting the show to ridicule latecomers in the audience.

Arizona Travel 200 Tickets - November NASCAR in Phoenix AZ

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Phoenix International Raceway Tickets, Sports

On Saturday before the big NASCAR Nextel race there is the Arizona Travel 200 which is a NASCAR Busch Series race that also takes place at Phoenix International Raceway. Sure, it’s considered the triple A ball version of NASCAR but the tickets are a lot cheaper and you can attend these events without having to miss church!

StubHub has all kind of tickets starting as low as $30.
We Have Seats does Stubhub one better by starting seats at $29

Here is some Busch Series trivia:

The NASCAR Busch Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR. It is NASCAR’s second division (often compared to Triple-A baseball), and is a proving ground for drivers who wish to step up to the organization’s top level, the Nextel Cup.

The series emerged from NASCAR’s old Sportsman division, which was formed in 1950 as NASCAR’s short track race division. It became the Late Model Sportsman series in 1968, and soon featured races on larger tracks, such as Daytona International Speedway.

The modern-day Busch Series was formed in 1982, when Anheuser-Busch sponsored a newly reformed late-model sportsman series with its Budweiser brand. It switched sponsorship to the Busch brand in 1984, and in 1986, was renamed from the Sportsman series to the Busch Grand National Series. Grand National was dropped from the series’ title in 2003.

….

Since the early days of the Busch Series, many Cup drivers have used their days off to drive in the Busch Series. This can be for any number of reasons, most prominent or often claimed is to gain more “seat time”, or to familiarize themselves with the track. Examples of this would be the first ever winner of a Busch Series race, Dale Earnhardt, and the winner of the most races in Busch Series history, Mark Martin. In recent years, this practice has been termed “Buschwhacking” by those that criticize the practice, claiming that Cup drivers racing in the Busch Series takes away opportunities from the Busch Series regulars, drivers that are usually younger and less experienced. Proponents of this practice, however, claim that without the Cup “superstars” and the large amount of fan interest they attract, the series would cease to exist.

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Phoenix International Raceway Tickets, Sports

Anyway, there are several NASCAR events every year at the Phoenix International Raceway and they always end up selling out (or getting mighty close anyway.) We Have Seats will sell you anything from cheap general admission seats to the warm up events at $5 to fancy seats on Sunday for hundreds
TicketsNow is worth taking a gander at as well while you’re at it

Here is some trivia about Phoenix International Raceway for you to chew on as well:

Location - Avondale, Arizona
Track length - 1 miles (1.6 kilometres)
Track shape - “D”-shaped Tri-Oval
Banking - Turns 1 and 2 - 11°
Turns 3 and 4 - 9°
Backstretch - 9°
Frontstretch - 3°
Major events - NASCAR Nextel Cup, NASCAR Busch Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Capacity - 76,800
Address - P.O. Box 13088, Avondale, AZ 85002

Phoenix International Raceway, or just PIR, is a one mile tri-oval race track located in Avondale, Arizona. It opened in 1964, as the new home of major open-wheel racing in the Phoenix area, replacing the track at the Arizona State Fairgrounds as an automobile racing venue. Unfortunately, due to a change in focus by the track’s current owners, ISC, the Phoenix area’s long history of hosting Indy-style racing (only Indianapolis itself and Milwaukee have had more) came to an abrupt end in 2005, when PIR failed to host an Indy Racing League event for the first time. Ironically, stock car racing’s top series, NASCAR’s Nextel Cup, didn’t even run at PIR until 1988. Their inagural race was won by the late Alan Kulwicki, who debuted his Polish Victory Lap) here after taking the checkered flag.

PIR has a unique tri-oval shape, with a curve in middle of its backstreatch between turns two and three, commonly referred to as “the dogleg”. This exists because the original builders were constrained by both the rocky hills located on the property and their incorporation of an extenal road course and dragstrip into PIR’s design. Once nearby Firebird International Raceway became a regular stop on drag racing tours, PIR’s dragstrip was rarely used. The external road course, which was used mainly for private testing and as parking lot access roads during oval events, was later replaced by the current infield road circuit. Prior to construction of a tunnel under turn four in 2004-05, the only access to the PIR’s infield during events was via crossovers, where the old external road course and dragstrip intersected the oval. Once the tunnel was built, the crossovers were permanently sealed off.

….

The infield road course, originally built for IMSA was most recently used by the Grand American Road Racing Association.

The oval also remains home to what was traditional called the Copper World Classic, a weekend of predominently open-wheel comptition with USAC midget and Silver Crown cars as well as modifieds. From 2002-04, the event was incorporated into early-spring the Indy Car Series / Indy Pro Series weekend, but with the departure of IRL, the Copper World event has returned to its original late-winter date on PIR’s racing schedule.

In 2005, the track hosted a second NASCAR Nextel Cup race event, replacing the spring race formerly held at Darlington Raceway, in South Carolina.

Cardinals vs. Seahawks Tickets

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: University of Phoenix (Cardinals) Stadium Tickets, Sports

Yeah I know it looks like a blowout on paper, but games aren’t played on paper; they’re played on the field. These NFC West rivals take each on every year and you never know what will happen. And if nothing else, it would give you a chance to see an NFL game in what is being called the best stadium in the NFL — the brand new University of Phoenix Stadium (formerly Cardinals Stadium). Tickets start as low a $33 (at StubHub) so it won’t even necessarily break the bank to go to a game. (Though you know parking is pretty expensive when people are selling parking passes through the brokers too…). Anyway, here are the places I recommend you look online if you are hoping to see a Cardinals home game this season:

Sun vs. Clippers Tickets in Phoenix

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: US Airways Center Tickets, Sports

The Clippers don’t suck anymore. That is going to make for some excellent games betwee the Phoenix Suns and the L.A. Clippers in the NBA’s Pacific Division. In fact some people are picking the Clips to win the Pacific Division (over your Suns, the Lakers, the Kings, etc.). So you are gonna want to get your hands on these Clippers vs. Suns amigos. Tickets start right now as low as $23 when the Los Angeles Clippers come to town but that will no doubt go up as the season progresses.

Suns vs. Hornets Tickets

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: US Airways Center Tickets, Sports

Or is it Hornets vs. Suns tickets? (And what about “vs.” or “v.” — oh the grammar choices!) Anyway, games between the Phoenix Suns and New Orleans (Oklahoma City?) Hornets feature two of the best point guards in the NBA in Steve Nash and Chris Paul. The Suns will beat the daylights out of the Hornets of course, but that is always fun to watch anyway!

The other good news is that tickets can start as low as $10 (even in the aftermarket). Here is where you will have you best luck as you hunt for tickets:

Trans-Siberian Orchestra Tickets in Phoenix

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Glendale (Jobing.com) Arena, Concerts

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (often abbreviated as TSO) is a rock/metal orchestra founded by Paul O’Neill, Robert Kinkel, and Jon Oliva in 1996. It is best known for its remakes of classical Christmas songs.”

So says their wiki. I honestly don’t know anything about these guys — I can hardly spell their name (Trans-Siberian, Trans Siberian, trans Siberean…) but they are apparently popular enough to schedule an upcoming gid a Glendale Arena (now Jobing.com Arena)anf that place hold 17,000+ people. And two shows at that! I guess they must not suck.

Here are the price ranges I’ve seen for tickets at a few top ticket vendors:

We Have Seats does indeed have lots of seats ranging from $95-199
StubHub has fewer seats to this one. Their prices range from $85-130
TicketsNow inventory ranges from $125-225

More on the orchestra:

Trans-Siberian Orchestra was founded in 1996 in New York City by composers Paul O’Neill and Robert Kinkel, and Savatage lead singer Jon Oliva.

O’Neill had managed and produced rock bands including Aerosmith, Humble Pie and Scorpions, later writing for and producing Savatage, where he began working with Kinkel and Oliva. The concept for a band playing Christmas carols in a rock opera style was not received warmly by the industry, but quickly proved a success with adults as well as young people.

In the recording studio, Trans-Siberian Orchestra uses a full 60-piece orchestra and a choir. As of 2004, their touring band included 14 vocalists, 14 musicians, and 2 narrators.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra released their debut album Christmas Eve and Other Stories in 1996, and it remains their best-selling album. Their 1998 release The Christmas Attic was similarly a concept album with a Christmas theme. In 2000, they released their first (and to date only) non-Christmas album, Beethoven’s Last Night, a concept album about Ludwig van Beethoven’s last night on earth, during which he meets Fate, her son Twist, and Mephistopheles.

After several years of touring, they returned to the studio with another full-length album, Lost Christmas Eve, and the accompanying DVD/3-CD release The Christmas Trilogy, which contained all three of their Christmas albums to date.

The band is, as of early 2005, working on a new non-Christmas album, Night Castle. It is projected to be released sometime in 2007 and is expected to feature the band’s rendition of Carmina Burana, performed as a preview by the band during their 2004 and 2005 tours.

Their 2005 tour was number 21 on the list of the most successful concert tours of the year, earning just over US$21 million.[1]. The schedule for their 2006 winter tour has been released on their website.

Tickets to Panic At the Disco and Bloc Party concert in Phoenix

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Glendale (Jobing.com) Arena, Concerts

If there were awards for cool band names Panic! At the Disco would surely win something. Ok, I might dock them a few points for the superfluous exclamation point, but in general it works quite well. I assume it in reference to the Classic Smiths song called PANIC… At least I hope it is. Of course, these guys are no Smiths, but they are making some waves lately. Their wiki says:

Panic! at the Disco is an alternative rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada.

The band has created a fusion sound that combines elements of pop punk, emo, electronica, dance, and indie rock.

Their 2005 debut album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out charted the Billboard 200 reaching #13, and has sold over one million copies since its September 2005 release.

Anyway, Panic! is coming to Phoenix on December 7 at Glendale Arena (Jobing.com Arena) and here are the best places to get tickets to premiere seats: (more…)

Tickets to Glendale Arena (now Jobing.com Arena) in Phoenix, AZ

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Glendale (Jobing.com) Arena

Jobing.com Arena? They can’t even spell at that company (it’s pronounced “jobbing.com”) but I guess they came up with enough money to buy the naming rights to Glendale Arena. (Clearly money is more persuasive than spelling skills in these sorts of things.)

Anyway, Glendale Arena (alright, Jobing.com Arena) is home to all sorts of sporting events here in Phoenix and also hosts a few large concerts and other events from time to time. It is big enough to not sell out all the time (it seats more than 17,000 people) but if you are ever looking for tickets to a popular event then here are the best places to look for aftermarket tickets:

We Have Seats usually has the best prices
TicketsNow has a good selection too
StubHub will let you buy or sell tickets and often gets some seats the other guys don’t have

Trace Adkins tickets at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix AZ

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Dodge Theatre, Concerts

His wiki says: Tracy Darrell “Trace” Adkins (born January 13, 1962) is an American country music singer from Sarepta, Louisiana. Some of his hits include “Rough and Ready”, “Arlington”, “Every Light in the House is On”, “Hot Mama”, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”, and “Swing.”

But you probably already knew that didn’t you? You are mostly interested in finding tickets to his November concert at the Dodge theatre in Phoenix, right? Ok, here are some resources for you:

StubHub has lots of seats ranging in price from $75-315. You can sell extra tickets with them too.
We Have Seats has loads of tickets andgood prices to boot. Their inventory ranges from $78-268
TicketsNow has tickets ranging from $100-285

Check ‘em all out and good luck.

Now some more Trace Adkins factoids!

His debut was 1996’s Dreamin’ Out Loud, which included a number of hits like “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing” and “Every Light in the House”. The follow-up, Big Time, however, saw meager sales in comparison to Dreamin’ Out Loud[citation needed]. 1999’s More was similarly disappointed, but his fourth album, 2001’s Chrome yielded a top-ten hit in “I’m Tryin’”, and, in 2003, Greatest Hits Collection, Vol.1 did the same with “Then They Do”. They formed in 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, and are best known for their hit singles, “One Week”, “Pinch Me”, “If I Had $1000000″ and “Brian Wilson”, and for their light-hearted and comedic performance style. James Blunt tickets (DodgeTheater in Phoenix)

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Dodge Theatre, Concerts

James Blunt has a show scheduled in November here in Phoenix Arizona on the 17th. I’ve done a little searching around and it looks like there are lots of good seats available through the brokers. Here is what my hunting with the top aftermarket companies turned up:

We Have Seats - Lots of seats ranging from $75-427

I recommend checking them all because tickets come and go with these guys.

And now a little James Blunt trivia… it turns out there is more to him than the one overplayed song.

James Blunt (born James Hillier Blount, 22 February 1974) is an English singer-songwriter whose debut album, Back to Bedlam, and single releases — especially the number one hit “You’re Beautiful” — brought him to fame in 2005. His style is a mix of pop, rock, folk and adult contemporary. Along with vocals, Blunt plays a wide variety of instruments including the piano, guitar, organ, marimba, and mellotron.

He is signed to Linda Perry’s American label Custard, and became the first British artist to top the American singles chart in nearly a decade when his song “You’re Beautiful” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2006. The last British artist to do so had been Elton John in 1997.

Tickets to Doodlebops at Dodge Theater in Phoenix Arizona

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Dodge Theatre, Theater

Alright, I admit it: The Doodlebops kinda creep me out. My toddler likes the show well enough but I cringe every time it comes on. Seems too similar to the weird psychedelic stuff from decades past like HR Puff n Stuff and that always creeped me out as a kid. Plus, the whole music dance theater thing that the doodle bops reek of just ain’t my thing.

But let’s face it — The Doodlebops are not targeted toward dads; the Doodlebops are targeted toward little kids and little kids eat this kind of stuff up. So if you are looking for primo seats to their Phoenix show we have you covered.

Stubhub has excellent tickets (including front row seats) ranging from $55-160.
We Have Seats has similarly excellent seats ranging from $69-145.
Ticketsnow has many of the same seats ranging from $75-165

And for your reading pleasure here is some more info on the Doodlebops:

Beginning its broadcasting run in 2004, the series, produced by Cookie Jar Entertainment airs on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Canada in the CBC Kids morning block, and on the Disney Channel in the USA as part of the Playhouse Disney morning programming schedule. Barbra Streisand tickets in Phoenix

By: Phoenix Tickets Finder    Category: Concerts

Barbra Streisand has an upcoming concert in Phoenix. Her wiki says:

In 2006, Streisand announced her intent to tour again, in an effort to raise money and awareness for multiple issues. The tour, which starts on October 4 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, has no official title but is simply being referred to as: Streisand: The Tour. Special guests Il Divo will open for Streisand.

Doh! I thought Devo was opening for her on this tour… That would be worth paying for alone.

Instead I learn that it is “Il Divo” whoever or whatever that is. (Alright a little research tells me “Il Divo, Italian for “divine male performer”, is an international operatic pop vocal group under the Sony BMG music label. Il Divo is formed by singers Carlos Marín, Urs Bühler, David Miller, and Sébastien Izambard.”)

Anyway, even without Devo opening for her, Babs is gonna sell out. Since you are reading this I’m guess you are interested in getting tickets to the show anyway so I recommend you check these guys out. Last time I checked they had lots of good tickets for sale raning from $116 to $1800 each. (Presumably the latter tickets are for you contemporaries of Barbra who have a little extra money to spend on these sorts of things…) And just for good measure you might want to shop at the other two best aftermarket ticket sources here and here. Good luck in you hunt. I here the Funny Girl is still pretty dang good. (more…)
