Jobing.com Arena (pronounced Jobbing.com Arena and formerly Glendale Arena) is an excellent Phoenix area venue in the northwest part of the valley (also known as, you know, Glendale…). It hosts all sorts of sporting events and a lot of the biggest concerts to come through town. It is a big place — it seats more than 17,500 people — but it still seems to sell out pretty often.
If you are looking for tickets to an upcoming event at the Jobbing/Jobing/Glendale Arena the first place to try is the box office. If you don’t find the tickets you want there then here are the places we recommend you look for aftermarket tickets:
1. AIW Tickets usually has the best prices and an excellent inventory
2. Check prices at some of these vendors:
3. Try my other two favorite ticket vendors
StubHub will let you buy or sell tickets and often gets some seats the other guys don’t have

Born to a large, impoverished family in Charlemagne, Quebec, Dion emerged as a teen star in the French-speaking world after her manager and future husband René Angélil mortgaged his home to finance her first record. In 1990 she released the anglophone album Unison, establishing herself as a viable pop artist in North America and other English-speaking areas of the world.

With the help of her husband, she achieved worldwide success with several English and French albums, ending the decade as one of the most successful artists in pop music. However, in 1999, at the height of her success, Dion announced a temporary retraction from entertainment in order to start a family and spend time with her husband, who had been diagnosed with cancer. She returned to the music scene in 2002 and signed a four-year contract to perform nightly in a five-star theatrical show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

I haven’t heard anything about Hootie and the Blowfish since the 90’s. They are playing at Jobing.com Arena soon. Here is some info from there wiki:
Hootie & the Blowfish formed in 1989, and independently released two cassette demo EPs. In 1993, they pressed 50,000 copies of a self-released EP, Kootchypop, which was named after a reference to female genitalia in a stand-up comedy act by What’s Happening co-star Shirley Hemphill. Their mainstream debut album was Cracked Rear View (1994) and it was an instant success, ultimately going platinum 16 times in the U.S. and becoming the best-selling album of 1995. The album was propelled by four hits, “Hold My Hand”, “Let Her Cry”, “Only Wanna Be With You”, and “Time”. In 1995, Hootie and the Blowfish and Bob Dylan reached an out-of-court settlement for the group’s unauthorized use of Dylan’s lyrics in their song “Only Wanna Be With You.” Miami Dolphins’ Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino appeared in the band’s video for the song “Only Wanna Be With You”, along with several other athletes.
In 1995, Hootie & the Blowfish contributed the song “Hey Hey What Can I Do” to the Encomium tribute album to Led Zeppelin. Also, their cover of Canadian group 54-40’s “I Go Blind”, originally released on the soundtrack to the TV series Friends in 1995, did not appear on Cracked Rear View or Fairweather Johnson, but nevertheless became a surprise hit at radio in 1997 after three singles from Fairweather Johnson had been released. Both “Hey Hey What Can I Do” and “I Go Blind” were later released on the collection Scattered, Smothered and Covered.

The Professional Bull Riders tour is coming into the Phoenix area in June for gig at Jobing.com arena. This should be a cool sight to see. Wikipedia says this about the PBR:
Professional Bull Riders, Inc. is an international professional bull riding organization based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. PBR events are televised on Versus, FOX and NBC. More than 800 cowboys, from the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Australia, and Mexico hold PBR memberships.
The organization began in 1992 through the efforts of 20 professional bull riders, who each contributed $1000. Since that time, the organization has grown to include four tours which collectively stage over 100 events a year. Prize money has exploded from $250,000 in 1994 to over $10 million in 2006.
The PBR’s premier tour, the Built Ford Tough Series, includes 31 events across the country every year. Pyrotechnics, pulsating music and special effects open each event, and each features the top 45 riders in the world at the time. Riders attempt to stay on a bucking bull for eight seconds, and rides are judged based on both the rider’s and the bull’s performance. At the end of each event, the top 15 riders compete in the short round, or “short go”; the rider with the highest point total from the entire event becomes the winner.
Total viewership, including event attendees and the television audience, grew 51.93 percent between 2002 and 2004. In 2004, 16.4 million fans watched or attended a PBR event.

Bill Gather has a big show coming up soon at Jobbing.com arena. Wikipedia says this about him:
William J. Gaither (born March 28, 1936) is an American singer and songwriter of southern gospel and Contemporary Christian music. He has written numerous popular Christian songs with his wife, Gloria. Besides performing solo and with his wife, Gaither has appeared as part of the Bill Gaither Trio, the Gaither Vocal Band, and as a part of his “Homecoming” groups.
Since Gaither first began singing with the Bill Gaither Trio in the 1950s, he has constantly been performing. The trio sang traditional gospel songs along with original compositions by the Gaithers that gave them a more contemporary feel.
Gaither has a high bass voice (or low baritone), and would often sing while playing a guitar with the Bill Gaither Trio. He also plays the piano.

Singer/songwriter John Mayer has an upcoming tour stop in the Phoenix area. (No, it’s not spelled Mayor, Mare, Maher, or Maier…) I doubt he’s bringing Jessica Simpson with him though. His Wikipedia entry says this:
John Clayton Mayer (born on October 16, 1977) is an American Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist. Originally from Connecticut, he briefly attended Berklee College of Music before moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998, where he refined his skills and began gaining a following. After originally performing mainly acoustic rock, in 2005 he made a transition towards the blues genre with the formation of the John Mayer Trio. The blues influence can also be seen on his latest studio album Continuum, which was released on September 12, 2006. Mayer won two Grammy awards for Pop Vocal Album for Continuum and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Waiting on the World to Change” at the 49th Grammy Awards in February 2007.
After playing the guitar for several years, Mayer enrolled in the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of nineteen. After two semesters, he chose to cut his studies short in favor of a move to Atlanta, Georgia, with his college friend and bandmate, Clay Cook. They began their career in earnest there, quickly making a name for the two-man band, LoFi Masters. They frequented the local coffeehouse and club circuit in venues like Eddie’s Attic. After the band LoFi Masters split due to creative differences, Mayer began his solo career. With the help of local producer/engineer Glenn Matullo, Mayer recorded the independent EP Inside Wants Out. Cook is also cited as the co-writer of many of the songs from the album, most notably, the ballad “Comfortable.”

From Rod Stewart’s wiki we get this:
Roderick David Stewart (born January 10, 1945) is a British singer who was a member of the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces before embarking on a solo career. His fiancee is model Penny Lancaster.
In a career in its fifth decade, Stewart has achieved numerous hit singles worldwide, most notably in the UK, where his tally of 62 hit singles includes 24 that went Top 10, of which six went all the way to number one.
It has been estimated that Stewart’s album and single sales total more than 200 million, easily earning him a place on the list of best-selling music artists.
Hold on there… 1945?? Wow. That guy is no spring chicken… But he’s young enough to tour still and he’s bringing his act to Jobing.com Arena (Glendale Arena) in Glendale.

How do you spell her name again? Cristina, Kristina, Christina? Agulera, Agulara, Aguilara, Aguileara… Ok, it is Christina Aguilera. What ever happened to pop diva’s having easy to spell single names like “Cher” or “Madonna”? Well in any case she is a massive pop star, and with the Pussycat Dolls opening for her (along with Danity Kane) her show at Glendale Arena/Jobing.com Arena is likely to sell out — or at least the good seats will sell out.
So if you need seats here is where you should look (in addition to checking out Ticket Master):

You gotta hand it to the folks at Disney — they know how to promote their cra… err… stuff. They have created a newish batch of that stuff in the form of High School Musical - The Concert. If I have this right, I guess this is the traveling road show of the made for tv movie that my 9 year old daughter and her friends were very interested in called High School - The Musical, or High School Musical or something. I couldn’t bring myself to watch it but based on the ads it looks like dreamy hoops star longs to sing or some such nonsense. I’m sure drama and hilarity abounded…
Anyway, if you need to get tickets for yourself and a daughter or something we have done some research and here are the best after market sources for excellent seats to this tour stop at Jobing.com (Glendale) Arena: (more…)
Phoenix has more than its share of ex Los Angelinos, and L.A. is only a 5-hour (at 80 mph) drive from Phoenix anyway so getting tickets to Coyotes games when the Kings are in town can be a chore. Never fear, we have some advice about where to find just the right tickets:

Ahhhh — there’s nothing more refreshing than coming in from a 115 degree parking lot to see a ice hockey game! And that’s what you often get here in Phoenix when you’re a Coyotes fan. The Coyotes are always a fun time even if tickets are sometimes hard to come by. The Phoenix Coyotes wiki says this:
The Coyotes were a hot ticket in Phoenix in the late ’90s, and had superb attendance. However, America West Arena soon proved to be an inadequate location for an NHL team. Several seats were obstructed because the arena’s floor was not designed with a hockey rink in mind, unlike most modern arenas. Seating capacity had to be cut down to 16,000 — the second-smallest in the league at the time — after the first season. Even then, a stretch of the upper deck that actually hung over the ice, obstructing the views of around 3,000 spectators. Some fans even claimed that they saw where the concrete had been sheared off to create retractable seats for hockey. After attempts failed either to renovate America West or build an arena in Scottsdale, the Coyotes built Glendale Arena, which they moved into in 2003. Simultaneously, the Coyotes changed their logo and uniforms, heeding to hockey purists, but disappointing many Coyotes fans.
If you are looking for Coyotes tickets and are having any trouble getting the seats you want from the box office here are the aftermarket sources I’ve discovered that seem to be the best bet:
- These guys have a solid inventory and usually the best prices for brokers
- These guys always have lots of tickets and let you sell as well as buy.
- These guys often have the biggest selection of Phoenix Coyotes tickets.
Who knows, maybe this is the year Coach Gretzky and the Coyotes break through and win the West. It’s bound to happen some time right?
