The high duo Cheech and Chong are doing a comedy tour and they are coming to Phoenix. The show will be at the Dodge theater. If you don’t know who they are then go rent an old movie of theirs. Here is some info from wikipedia:

With Chong released, the duo planned to resume production on their latest opus. A variety of titles were rumored, including Grumpy Old Stoners. Cheech and Chong announced on September 8, 2005 that the reunion film had been canceled. In a 2007 interview, Chong hinted that the reunion may be back on.

On June 3, 2008, Tommy Chong announced that, starting in September, he will be reuniting with Cheech Marin for a comedy tour. Shelby Chong, Tommy’s wife, will be opening.

Tommy also mentioned that he and Cheech plan on doing a movie together. On July 3rd, 2008, Tommy Chong (on a live webcam chat) reconfirmed that he and Cheech will be doing another film, based on their reuniting and live bits from the aforementioned comedy tour.

On July 30, 2008, the team reunited to publicly announce their fall comedy tour, titled “Light It Up America/Canada”. This announcement was made at a press conference in Philadelphia, the first U.S. city on their tour, Toronto, Canada, being the first city worldwide.

The Human Jukebox is coming to Phoenix for a show. Terry Fator is putting on a show at the Chandler Center of the Arts. For a good time call his number. Here is some info from wiki:

Terry Fator, aka “The Human Jukebox” (born June 10, 1965), is a ventriloquist, impressionist, comedian, and singer from Mesquite, Texas. Fator is capable of doing over 100 ventriloquial impersonations,[1] and uses 16 different puppets in his act. He was the winner of Season 2 of America’s Got Talent, and received the million dollar prize.[2] The following year, he was signed on as the headliner at The Mirage hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada

Walking with Dinosaurs - The Live Experience

A live theatrical adaptation was created in Australia and began touring in early 2007 (starting in Sydney’s Acer Arena, and continuing to Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide & Melbourne). Coming from the mind of William May, the show features life-size mechanical dinosaurs operated by teams of puppeteers and drivers as well as music by James Brett.

It was produced by Malcolm C. Cooke & Jill Bryant and directed by Scott Faris. The leading role of the paleontologist (Huxley) was played by both Bruce Spence & Felix Nobis in the original Australian version. The role of Huxley is currently played by JB Warren & Robert Clink.

I can’t say I was a fan of his show when it was on TV, but I can say I like the re-runs. Jerry Seinfeld is coming to Phoenix to make you laugh it up at the Dodge Theater. Here is some info from wikipedia:

I remember Magaret Cho from her show called All American Girl in the early nineties. Now show does a comedy show. Come to the Dodge Theater in Phoenix. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Cho was born Moran Cho to a Korean-American family in San Francisco, California. She was frequently called “Moron” by other children. Cho grew up in a culturally diverse neighborhood in the 1970s and 1980s, which she described as a community of “old hippies, ex-druggies, burnouts from the ’60s, drag queens, Chinese people and Koreans. To say it was a melting pot - that’s the least of it. It was a really confusing, enlightening, wonderful time.”

If you want to see a funny show, come out to see Ray Romano. He is doing the show at the Dodge theater here in Phoenix. Here is some info from wikipedia:

Romano, an Italian American (originally from Rogliano), was born in Queens, New York to Albert and Lucie Romano. He grew up in the Queens neighborhood of Forest Hills. Romano attended elementary and middle school at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Forest Hills. After transferring from Archbishop Molloy High School, Romano graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1975. He was in the same high school class as Fran Drescher and later appeared on Drescher’s sitcom The Nanny as an old classmate. Before breaking into show business, Romano briefly attended Queens College in Flushing, New York where he had major in accounting.

Romano married his wife Anna Scarpulla (born 1963) in 1987. They met while working at a bank. Ironically, he had asked out two other co-workers before Anna agreed to go on a date with him. Together, they have four children: one daughter Alexandra (born 1990), and three sons: twins Matthew & Gregory (born 1993) and Joseph Raymond (born February 16, 1998).

Lewis Niles Black (born August 30, 1948) is a Grammy Award-winning American stand-up comedian, author, playwright, and actor. He is known for his comedy style which often simulates a mental breakdown or rant, ridiculing (mostly American) history, politics, religion, trends, and cultural phenomena. He makes regular appearances on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show delivering his “Back in Black” commentary segment. He guest starred on My Gym Partner’s a Monkey as Ted Oxpecker, a cruel and annoying bird with Black’s personality. He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and has an apartment in Manhattan.

The Moscow Ballet is coming to the Dodge Theater to preform the Nutcracker. Come to Phoenix for the event. Here is some info from wiki:

The Nutcracker (Russian: Щелкунчик) Op. 71, is a fairy tale-ballet in two acts, three tableaux, by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1891–92, and based on The Nutcracker and the Mouse King (German: Der Nussknacker und der Mäusekönig), a story by E. T. A. Hoffmann (1816). Alexandre Dumas père’s adaptation of the story was set to music by Tchaikovsky (after a libretto possibly written by Marius Petipa and commissioned by the administrator of the Imperial Theatres Ivan Vsevolozhsky in 1891).

In Western countries, this ballet has become among the most popular ballets performed, primarily around Christmas time.

A selection of eight of the more popular numbers from the ballet was made by the composer before the ballet’s December 1892 premiere, forming The Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a, intended for concert performance. The suite was first performed, under the composer’s direction, on 19 March 1892 at an assembly of the St. Petersburg branch of the Musical Society. The suite became instantly popular; the complete ballet did not achieve its great popularity until around the mid-1960s. Broadway on Ice is coming to Phoenix soon. The Dodge Theater is hosting the event. Here is some info from wiki:

Broadway On Ice is a long-running ice show produced by Willy Bietak Productions. Dating back to the early 1980’s, in recent years the show has been presented in theatrical venues in resort areas such as Las Vegas, Nevada and Branson, Missouri with a rotating cast of skating and musical guest stars, rather than as a touring ice show. The format of the show is a revue using music from popular Broadway theatre shows.

Skaters who have been featured in the show include Nancy Kerrigan, Dorothy Hamill, Brian Boitano, Oksana Baiul, and Rudy Galindo. Musical guest stars have included Davis Gaines, Deborah Gibson, and Leslie Uggams.

Jeff Dunham the comedian is coming to the Celebrity theater in Phoenix. I wish I could tell you about him, but I can’t so here is some info from wiki:

Jeff Dunham is an award winning ventriloquist and a stand-up comedian. He has performed on numerous comedy shows, including Comedy Central Presents in 2003. His usual puppets include a woozle named Peanut, a bitter old man named Walter, a dead terrorist named Achmed and José Jalapeño - a talking jalapeño pepper on a stick. His first DVD, Jeff Dunham: Arguing With Myself, was released in April 2006. In this stand-up offering, Jeff opens his show playing straight-man to his usual crew and includes two other characters: Sweet Daddy Dee and Bubba J. His new comedy special “Spark of Insanity” was available at Redbox stands on September 4, 2007[citation needed], and was released to buy on DVD September 18, 2007. The DVD features Peanut; José; Walter; Melvin, the Super Hero Guy; and Achmed the Dead Terrorist. The DVD was taped at the Warner Theater. Comedy Central aired “Spark of Insanity” on September 23, 2007.
